TransportationNOTE: As you plan your transportation to DMAC, you will want to consider that OSU's graduation weekend is June 13-14, a very busy time on our campus. The campus area hotels are booked solid. If possible, you may want to plan your departure from Columbus late afternoon/early evening on Tuesday, June 16. Many people will choose to drive to DMAC because of its convenient location. The main east-west highway is I-70. There are two primary north-south freeways, I-71 and St. Rte. 315. The outerbelt, I-270, circles the city. I-670 connects the airport to downtown and continues to the west side. For those who plan to fly, Port of Columbus Internaltional Airport (CMH) is easily accessible from virtually any airport in the country. Located just 10 minutes east of downtown, the aiport is served by 12 airlines and their regional affiliates providing more than 350 daily arrivals and departures to 35 airports. Once in Columbus, visitors will find the city easy to navigate. Cars can be rented from a variety of points in the city. Taxi service is provided by many vendors, and public transportation is available from the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA). Normal bus fare is $1.25, express fare $1.75 and transfers 10¢. Busses run regularly-especially up and down High Street, the location of many restaurants, galleries, movie theaters, and shops. Maps and schedules are available for downloading at the COTA web site: If you are the pedaling type, Columbus boasts some mighty sweet bike trails, and bikes are often the very best way to get around the OSU campus as well. Descriptions and maps of bicycle trails in the city are available for downloading from the Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks: Also feel free to contact Dickie Selfe <selfe.3@osu.edu> for biking information.
Parking Like most university campuses, parking at OSU is something you must consider if you are driving. At the Holiday Inn on Lane parking is free for guests, and the hotel is within walking distance of DMAC. You can download a campus map:
